A striking 7” original handmade embroidery hoop inspired by the beauty of the Scottish landscape. Perfect for wall art and display purposes this hoop is comprised of an eclectic and colourful combination of yarn and embroidery floss producing an impactful three-dimensional original piece of art designed to draw your eye. The hoop is hand stitched on plain white cotton that brings out the most colourful aspects of this design and is securely mounted in a bamboo embroidery hoop with a silver screw fastening which enables easy hanging for wall displays.

This original embroidered hoop is inspired by a cute wee cottage that’s very close to my home in Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire that I see day to day on my commute on the A952. Surrounded by vast easily characterised by the beautiful Scottish landscape we see time and time again across Aberdeenshire a wee cottage looks as if it is drowning in the greenery. The scene is breath-taking and makes me feel incredibly lucky to have so much to explore and so much beauty right on my doorstep to draw from for inspiration for my art and embroidery hoops.

With striking pink and lilac stitching the aim of this piece was to capture the variety of the landscape here in Aberdeen and add in a more human touch with the drowning cottage as the main feature of the piece, inviting you to wonder whether the cottage lays in the fields in isolation or if there is someone lucky enough to be surrounded by this beauty in their day to day life. It would be quite a life indeed!

There is nothing understated about Threid Stitches, and my original embroidery hoops and Scottish landscape inspired artworks make the perfect gift or piece of wall-art to display in your home gallery or to add a pop of colour to your space or if you’re a lover of the maximalist trend.
